Ghayal (1990 film)

Ghayal is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Dharmendra. The film stars Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Seshadri, Raj Babbar, and Amrish Puri in lead roles.

The film revolves around Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol), an amateur boxer who is wrongly implicated in a murder committed by Balwant Rai (Amrish Puri), a powerful and corrupt businessman. Ajay's brother Ashok (Raj Babbar), a lawyer, fights to prove his innocence but is killed by Balwant Rai. Fueled by grief and rage, Ajay escapes from prison and embarks on a quest for revenge, determined to bring Balwant Rai to justice.

Ghayal was a major commercial success at the box office and is considered one of the most iconic action films in Hindi cinema. It is known for its intense action sequences, powerful performances, and social commentary on corruption and injustice. The film won seven Filmfare Awards, including Best Film and Best Actor for Sunny Deol. It also won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
