Bara Gali
Bara Gali, also spelled Bara Galli, is a mountain resort town located in the Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,400 meters (7,874 feet), it is known for its scenic beauty, pleasant climate, and pine forests.
Bara Gali serves as a summer campus for the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, offering students and faculty a cool and refreshing environment for academic activities during the warmer months. The UET campus significantly contributes to the town's economy and population during the summer season.
Beyond the UET campus, Bara Gali attracts tourists seeking respite from the heat of lower-lying areas. Hiking, trekking, and enjoying the natural surroundings are popular activities. The town provides basic accommodation and food options, catering primarily to students and tourists. While not as developed as some other hill stations in Pakistan, Bara Gali offers a relatively peaceful and less crowded environment.
Accessibility to Bara Gali is via road from Abbottabad, a major city in the region. The road, while scenic, can be challenging in places due to its mountainous terrain.
