BK Racing
BK Racing was a NASCAR Cup Series team that competed from 2012 to 2018. Based in Statesville, North Carolina, the team was primarily owned by Ron Devine. BK Racing's origins stemmed from the assets acquired from the former TRG Motorsports team.
Throughout its existence, BK Racing struggled with financial difficulties and often relied on pay drivers or drivers bringing sponsorship to secure a ride. The team never achieved a race win, and its best finish was a 12th place achieved by Matt DiBenedetto at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016.
Over the years, a variety of drivers piloted BK Racing entries, including Travis Kvapil, Ryan Truex, Alex Bowman, JJ Yeley, Matt DiBenedetto, Gray Gaulding, Corey LaJoie, and others. The team primarily fielded Toyota vehicles, although they briefly experimented with Dodge.
BK Racing's operations were suspended in early 2018 after facing lawsuits and bankruptcy proceedings. The team's assets were eventually sold off in a bankruptcy auction, effectively ending its run in NASCAR. The team is remembered primarily for its underdog status and its struggles to remain competitive in the highly demanding environment of NASCAR's top series.
