Euterpe

Euterpe (Ancient Greek: Εὐτέρπη, meaning "rejoicing well" or "delight") is one of the nine Muses in Greek mythology. She is the Muse of music, song, and lyric poetry. She is often depicted holding a flute or aulos, a double-pipe instrument, and sometimes also carrying a laurel wreath.

As one of the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (Memory), Euterpe represents an aspect of artistic inspiration and creative expression related to music. While traditionally associated with wind instruments, her influence extends to all forms of music intended to evoke pleasure and emotion.

Her devotees believed that Euterpe inspired joyous and harmonious sounds, fostering an appreciation for the beauty and power of music. She is considered a patron of musicians, particularly those who compose and perform lyrical pieces.
