Henry Blackett
Henry Blackett (born c. 1807, died 1878) was a British clergyman and academic. He served as the Warden of Merton College, Oxford, from 1857 until his death. Blackett was also a prominent figure in Oxford University's governing bodies and involved in several university reforms during his tenure. He was known for his dedication to the college and his efforts to improve its financial stability and academic standing. His wardenship was a period of significant change within Merton College and the wider university. Details of his early life and specific academic achievements prior to his wardenship are relatively scarce in readily available historical records, however, his influence and legacy are primarily tied to his administrative role and contributions to Merton College.
