Avalon station (Los Angeles Metro)
Avalon station is a light rail station on the A Line (Blue) of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located at the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and El Segundo Boulevard in the unincorporated community of West Rancho Dominguez, south of the city of Los Angeles.
The station provides access to the surrounding residential areas and businesses along Avalon Boulevard. It is a surface-level station with two side platforms serving northbound and southbound trains. Passenger amenities include shelters, benches, and TAP card vending machines. Artwork is incorporated into the station design.
Service hours for the A Line are approximately from 4:30 AM to 12:30 AM daily. Specific schedules are available on the Metro website.
Connecting bus services are provided by Metro and other local transit agencies, facilitating transfers to destinations throughout the region.
The station opened in 1990 as part of the original Blue Line (now A Line) route. It has remained a vital transportation hub for the community since its inception.
