Audrey Moore (politician)

Audrey Moore (born May 21, 1929, died February 27, 2021) was an American politician and community activist in Fairfax County, Virginia. She served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, representing the Annandale District, from 1972 to 1991.

During her tenure, Moore was known for her focus on environmental protection, affordable housing, and social services. She championed the creation of parkland and advocated for responsible land use planning. A key accomplishment was her leadership in developing the Cross County Trail system in Fairfax County, a network of trails designed for recreational use and non-motorized transportation.

Moore was also a proponent of affordable housing initiatives and worked to expand access to social services for low-income residents. Her political career was marked by a commitment to citizen engagement and community involvement in local government. She left a legacy of progressive policies and advocacy for environmental sustainability and social equity in Fairfax County. Prior to serving as a Supervisor, Moore was a member of the Fairfax County School Board. She was a Democrat.
