Say You Will (album)

Say You Will is the seventeenth studio album by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on December 9, 2003. It is their first album since 1987's Tango in the Night to feature the lineup of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie. Christine McVie, who had been a core member since 1970, declined to participate, making this the first Fleetwood Mac album since 1974's Heroes Are Hard to Find to not include her.

The album was primarily written and recorded at Buckingham's home studio and other locations. Many of the songs were previously unreleased material from Buckingham's solo projects and early Fleetwood Mac sessions, some dating back to the 1970s. Nicks also contributed songs, some of which had been previously considered for her solo albums.

Say You Will marked a return to a more rock-oriented sound for Fleetwood Mac, emphasizing Buckingham's guitar work and the band's signature vocal harmonies. The album received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its ambition and musicianship while others found it inconsistent and overlong. Despite the mixed reception, it was a commercial success, reaching number three on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.

The album spawned several singles, including "Peacekeeper," "Say You Will," and "Illume (9-11)." Fleetwood Mac supported the album with a successful world tour that lasted from 2003 to 2004. While not universally acclaimed, Say You Will is considered a significant album in Fleetwood Mac's discography, representing a reunion of the band's most recognizable lineup after a lengthy hiatus and showcasing their enduring musical chemistry.
