Anne Russell (artist)

Anne Russell (born 1933, died 2019) was a British artist known primarily for her landscape paintings and botanical illustrations. She worked predominantly in watercolour, often depicting scenes from the British countryside, particularly in Norfolk and Suffolk. Russell’s style is characterized by its delicate detail, meticulous observation, and subtle use of color to capture the atmosphere and light of her subjects. She also produced a number of detailed botanical studies, focusing on native British plants. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the UK and is held in private collections. Russell was a member of several art societies, and also taught art classes to amateur painters for many years.
