Oleander (band)

Oleander was an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California in 1995. The band's core members consisted of Thomas Flowers (vocals, guitar), Doug Eldridge (guitar), Ric Ivanisevich (bass), and Scott Nelson (drums).

Oleander achieved mainstream success in the late 1990s and early 2000s with their melodic hard rock sound, often drawing comparisons to bands like Bush and Fuel. Their debut album, February Son, was released independently in 1997 and gained regional attention.

The band signed with Universal Records and re-released February Son in 1999. This version included the hit single "Why I'm Here," which propelled the album to platinum status. They followed up with the album Unwind in 2000, which featured the singles "Why I Am" and "Halo". Unwind achieved gold certification.

Oleander released their third major-label album, Joyride, in 2002. While it contained the single "Runaway Train," the album did not achieve the same level of commercial success as their previous efforts.

The band went on hiatus in 2003. They reunited in 2008 and have sporadically toured and released new music since then. Their fourth album, Something Beautiful, was released in 2013. Oleander continues to perform occasionally.
