Andy Porter (footballer, born 1968)

Andy Porter (born 25 June 1968 in Hindley, England) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Porter began his career as a youth player at Oldham Athletic, turning professional in 1987. He made his league debut in 1988 and became a regular in the Oldham side that reached the FA Cup semi-final in 1990 and won the Second Division title in 1991, securing promotion to the top flight. He played for Oldham in the Premier League for three seasons before joining Crewe Alexandra in 1994.

At Crewe, Porter was a key player, helping them achieve promotion to the Second Division in 1994 and then to the First Division in 1997. He remained with Crewe until 2003, becoming a club legend for his consistent performances and commitment.

After leaving Crewe, he had a brief spell with Northwich Victoria before retiring from professional football.

Following his playing career, Porter moved into coaching and management. He has held coaching roles at various non-league clubs.
