Akira Matsunaga (footballer, born 1914)
Akira Matsunaga (松永 行, Matsunaga Akira, October 21, 1914 – c. 1943) was a Japanese football player. He played for Japan national football team.
Career
Matsunaga played for Waseda WMW. He won the Emperor's Cup three times (1933, 1934, 1938).
National team career
In May 1936, Matsunaga was selected Japan national football team for 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin and played in two games, including a victory against Sweden. He also played at 1938 Far Eastern Championship Games. He played 2 games and scored 1 goal for Japan until 1936.
Death
Matsunaga died in the Pacific War around 1943. His younger brothers, Seki Matsunaga and Nobuo Matsunaga, also played for Japan national football team.
