Aepinus (crater)
Aepinus is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the southwest of the larger crater Minkowski and northwest of the crater Plummer.
The rim of Aepinus is heavily eroded and somewhat irregular, with several smaller craters lying along its edge. The most prominent of these is a small, bowl-shaped crater that lies across the southwest rim. The inner walls of Aepinus are slumped and terraced, leading down to a relatively flat interior floor. This floor is marked by several tiny craterlets, but otherwise lacks any significant features.
Due to its location on the far side of the Moon, Aepinus cannot be viewed directly from Earth and is only visible through spacecraft imagery.
