Șoimeni (river)

The Șoimeni is a river in Romania. It is a left tributary of the Homorod River. The Șoimeni flows through Harghita County. Its length is approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles), and its basin size is 52 square kilometers (20 sq mi). The river is known for its relatively swift current and clear water, though it is susceptible to seasonal flooding during periods of heavy rainfall or snowmelt. The Șoimeni is not navigable by larger vessels. Local populations utilize the river for irrigation purposes and, to a lesser extent, recreational fishing.
