Street (band)

Street was a short-lived British hard rock band formed in the late 1970s, featuring John Sloman on vocals (later of Lone Star and Uriah Heep), Steve Byrd on guitar, Brian Robertson (formerly of Thin Lizzy) on guitar, and Pete Thompson on drums (formerly of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers). Although they generated considerable buzz due to the members' established reputations, Street released only one self-titled studio album in 1977.

The band was conceived with the intention of creating a commercial hard rock sound. However, internal conflicts and a lack of clear direction ultimately led to their disbandment shortly after the album's release. Despite their brief existence, the album has gained a cult following among fans of classic hard rock and is appreciated for its strong musicianship and energetic performances.

The album "Street" consisted of original material and featured a blend of hard rock and blues influences. While it didn't achieve significant commercial success at the time, the album remains a notable entry in the discographies of the individual band members. Brian Robertson's guitar work, in particular, is often cited as a highlight.

After the breakup of Street, the members went on to pursue various other musical projects, further solidifying their reputations in the rock music scene.
