Yalecrest
Yalecrest is a historic residential neighborhood located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Primarily developed between the 1920s and 1940s, Yalecrest is characterized by its well-preserved Tudor Revival architecture, tree-lined streets, and relatively large lot sizes. The neighborhood derives its name from its proximity to Yale Avenue and the concentration of streets named after Ivy League universities and other institutions of higher education.
Yalecrest is bounded roughly by 1300 East to the east, 900 South to the south, 1500 East to the west, and approximately 500 South to the north. The area is known for its strong sense of community and active neighborhood association.
The architectural style of Yalecrest homes is predominantly Tudor Revival, with examples of English Cottage, Colonial Revival, and other period revival styles also present. Many homes feature brick or stucco exteriors, steeply pitched roofs, decorative half-timbering, and arched doorways.
Yalecrest is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic designation recognizes the neighborhood's significant architectural and historical value.
