Withington (ward)

Withington is a local government ward in the city of Manchester, England. It is located in the southern part of the city, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the city centre.

The ward is named after the suburb of Withington, which it largely encompasses. It is bordered by the wards of Didsbury West, Chorlton Park, Burnage, and Fallowfield.

Historically, Withington was a township in the ancient parish of Manchester, Lancashire. It became part of the city of Manchester in 1904.

The ward is represented by three councillors on Manchester City Council. Elections are held every year, with one councillor being elected each time, except in years when there are all-out elections.

Withington ward is a diverse area with a mix of residential, commercial, and educational uses. It is home to a number of parks and green spaces, including Withington Park.
