Support Command (New Zealand)

Support Command (New Zealand), often abbreviated as Spt Comd (NZ), is a functional command within the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). It is responsible for providing a wide range of logistical, engineering, health, and other support services to enable the operational effectiveness of the Royal New Zealand Navy, New Zealand Army, and Royal New Zealand Air Force.

The Command's functions include but are not limited to: supply chain management (procurement, storage, and distribution of materiel), maintenance and repair of equipment, transport services (land, sea, and air), medical support, catering, personnel services, and infrastructure management. It plays a crucial role in sustaining deployed forces, both domestically and overseas, and ensuring the readiness of the NZDF for a variety of missions.

Support Command operates various establishments and units throughout New Zealand. Its composition varies depending on the specific requirements and evolving needs of the NZDF. The Commander of Support Command is a senior officer who reports to the Chief of Defence Force (CDF). The organizational structure is designed to ensure efficient and effective delivery of support services across the entire NZDF.
