Frank Smith (Canadian politician)
Frank Smith (born December 12, 1941) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He served as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 1999, representing the riding of Nipissing for the Progressive Conservative Party under Premier Mike Harris.
Smith was born in North Bay, Ontario. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a businessman in the transportation and tourism sectors.
He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in the 1995 provincial election, defeating Liberal incumbent Mike Harris (no relation to the Premier). During his term in office, he served on various legislative committees.
Smith was defeated in the 1999 provincial election by Liberal candidate Monique Smith. Following his departure from provincial politics, he returned to his business interests.
