William Wood (footballer, born 1904)

William Wood (born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1904, date of death unknown) was an English professional footballer who played as a full back.

Wood began his career with Newcastle United, although he did not make a first-team appearance for the club. He then moved to Darlington in 1925, where he became a regular in the team. He played for Darlington until 1933, making over 200 appearances in the Football League Third Division North.

After leaving Darlington, Wood joined Carlisle United for a short period before retiring from professional football. His career was primarily defined by his long service to Darlington, where he was known for his consistent performances and solid defensive play.
