William Roberts (American football)
William Roberts (born February 8, 1962) is a former professional American football offensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Ohio State University.
Roberts was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round (19th overall) of the 1984 NFL Draft. He played for the Jets from 1984 to 1991, primarily as a guard. Following his time with the Jets, he played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1992 to 1993, and finished his NFL career with the New England Patriots in 1994.
During his career, Roberts was known for his size and strength. He was a key part of the Jets' offensive line that helped pave the way for running backs like Freeman McNeil. After retiring from professional football, Roberts has remained involved in various charitable activities.
