William Redman (politician)

William Redman (born circa 1866, died February 11, 1938) was a politician in Alberta, Canada. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Peace River constituency from 1921 to 1935, representing the United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) party.

Redman was born in England and emigrated to Canada, settling in the Peace River region. He was a farmer prior to entering politics. He won the Peace River seat in the 1921 Alberta general election, succeeding Premier Charles Stewart. He was re-elected in 1926 and 1930.

During his time in the legislature, Redman was a backbencher and focused on issues relevant to his rural constituency, including agricultural concerns and transportation infrastructure. He did not hold any cabinet positions. He was defeated in the 1935 Alberta general election, which saw the Social Credit party sweep to power, by William Bailey.

Redman died in Edmonton in 1938.
