William Jeffries (minister)

William Jeffries was a 17th-century Puritan minister in colonial Massachusetts. He was born in England and emigrated to America, serving as the minister of the First Church of Braintree (now Quincy), Massachusetts, from 1641 until his death in 1675. Jeffries was a graduate of Cambridge University. He was known for his strong Puritan beliefs and his commitment to the religious life of his congregation. Little is known about his personal life, but his ministry played a significant role in the early development of religious institutions in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
