William Cope (cofferer)
William Cope (died 1513) was a courtier and official in the service of King Henry VII of England. He served as Cofferer of the Household from around 1494 until his death. The Cofferer was a senior financial officer within the Royal Household, responsible for receiving and disbursing funds for the king's daily expenses and other household needs. Cope was a trusted member of Henry VII's administration, and his role involved managing substantial sums of money and ensuring the smooth operation of the royal court. He was granted lands and offices throughout his career, a testament to the king's favor. Following his death, his son Stephen Cope inherited some of his estates.
