William Alexander (judge)

William Alexander (1831-1910) was a prominent lawyer and judge in Louisiana during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served as a Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court from 1894 to 1904. Prior to his service on the Supreme Court, Alexander held various judicial positions, including judge of the district court. He was known for his expertise in civil law, given Louisiana's unique legal system influenced by the Napoleonic Code.
