Wig Wam
Wig Wam was a Norwegian glam metal band formed in 2001. They are best known for winning the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix in 2005 and representing Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, where they achieved a fifth-place finish with the song "In My Dreams."
The band's lineup consisted of Åge Sten Nilsen (Glam) on vocals, Trond Holter (Teeny) on guitar, Bernt Rune Stray (Flash) on bass, and Øystein Andersen (Sporty) on drums. Wig Wam's music is characterized by its catchy melodies, energetic performances, and flamboyant stage presence, heavily influenced by classic glam metal bands of the 1980s.
Following their Eurovision success, Wig Wam released several albums and toured extensively, gaining a significant following in Norway and other European countries. Their music often features themes of fantasy, dreams, and good times, reflecting the band's lighthearted and entertaining approach.
While the band officially split up in 2014, they have occasionally reunited for special performances. Their Eurovision performance remains a memorable moment in Norwegian music history.
