Whitford (provincial electoral district)
Whitford was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first-past-the-post method of voting from 1909 to 1971.
The electoral district was located in east-central Alberta, roughly corresponding to the area around the present-day County of Two Hills No. 21 and portions of surrounding counties. It was named after the community of Whitford, Alberta.
The district was created in 1909 from portions of the Vegreville and Victoria electoral districts. Whitford was abolished in 1971, with its territory being redistributed into the electoral districts of Vegreville, Smoky Lake, and Lac La Biche-McMurray.
Over its history, Whitford was generally considered a safe seat for the Liberal party. The district was represented by a number of prominent figures in Alberta politics, including several cabinet ministers.
