Wen Gao
Wen Gao is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Peking University, and a director of the Peng Cheng Laboratory in Shenzhen. His research interests primarily lie in the fields of multimedia computing, computer vision, pattern recognition, and artificial intelligence. He is particularly known for his contributions to video coding, image understanding, and multimedia retrieval.
Gao received his Ph.D. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology. He is a Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his research contributions, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award of China.
Gao's work has been widely published in leading academic journals and conferences. He has also been involved in the development of several international standards related to video coding, such as AVS (Audio Video coding Standard). He actively participates in various international academic activities and serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals.
