Waterford–Tipperary East (Dáil constituency)
Waterford–Tipperary East was a short-lived Dáil Éireann constituency in Ireland, existing only for the 1937 general election. It was a multi-member constituency electing three Teachtaí Dála (TDs) to Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament).
The constituency was created by the Electoral (Revision of Constituencies) Act 1935, which significantly redrew constituency boundaries across the country. It comprised territory formerly part of the larger constituencies of Waterford and Tipperary.
At the 1937 general election, the constituency returned:
- Daniel Morrissey (Cumann na nGaedheal, later Fine Gael)
- Patrick O'Reilly (Fianna Fáil)
- Bridget Redmond (Cumann na nGaedheal, later Fine Gael)
The constituency was abolished by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1947, which came into effect for the 1948 general election. The territory it encompassed was redistributed back into revised Waterford and Tipperary constituencies. The Tipperary portion became part of the new Tipperary South constituency.
