Walking the Line (Merle Haggard, George Jones and Willie Nelson album)
Walking the Line is a collaborative studio album by country music artists Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Willie Nelson. It was released in 2004 on the MCA Nashville label. The album features each artist taking lead vocal duties on a selection of classic country songs, often associated with other performers, in addition to a few original compositions. The album's title is a reference to Johnny Cash's iconic song "I Walk the Line," although the song itself is not included on the album. Instead, Walking the Line focuses on showcasing the individual styles and vocal talents of the three legends as they interpret established country standards and offer new material. While not a major chart-topper, the album was generally well-received by critics and fans for its showcasing of three titans of country music history.
