Dave Roberts (California politician)

Dave Roberts (born June 23, 1970) is an American politician who served as a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, representing District 3, from 2013 to 2017. A Democrat, Roberts was elected in 2012, defeating incumbent Pam Slater-Price.

Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors, Roberts served on the Solana Beach City Council, including a term as mayor. He also worked in the private sector, focusing on technology and marketing.

During his time on the Board of Supervisors, Roberts focused on issues such as mental health services, public safety, and environmental protection. He advocated for increased resources for mental health programs and worked on initiatives to address homelessness in the region.

In 2016, Roberts faced controversy following allegations of misconduct by several of his staff members. An internal investigation was conducted by the county. He ultimately faced a recall election in 2016, which he survived. However, he was defeated in his bid for re-election in 2016 by Kristin Gaspar.

Since leaving office, Roberts has remained active in community affairs.
