Vela (Ilidža)

Vela is a neighborhood located in the municipality of Ilidža, Sarajevo Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is primarily a residential area. Vela is situated to the west of the center of Ilidža and lies between the Željeznica river and the foothills of Mount Igman. Its borders are generally defined by the Željeznica to the east, the road network connecting Ilidža to Hrasnica to the south and west, and agricultural land transitioning into forested areas of Mount Igman to the north. Vela is accessible by road and public transportation links to other parts of Ilidža and Sarajevo. The neighborhood is characterized by single-family homes and small apartment buildings.
