Cold War 2 (film)

Cold War 2 (寒戰II; Hánzhàn II) is a 2016 Hong Kong-Chinese action thriller film directed by Longman Leung and Sunny Luk. It is a sequel to the 2012 film Cold War. The film stars Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Chow Yun-fat, Janice Man, Eddie Peng, and Charlie Young.

Cold War 2 continues the story of Sean Lau (Aaron Kwok), the Commissioner of Police, as he navigates political conspiracies and challenges within the Hong Kong Police Force. The film picks up after the events of the first film, with Lau still dealing with the aftermath of the "Cold War" operation and the escape of Joe Lee (Eddie Peng).

A key element of the plot involves the abduction of Lau's wife, forcing him to make difficult choices and revealing a deeper conspiracy involving powerful figures in the government and police force. Lee Man-bun (Tony Leung Ka-fai), still reeling from his son's actions, finds himself caught in the crossfire.

Chow Yun-fat joins the cast as Oswald Kan, a lawyer and former Legislative Councillor, who becomes involved in uncovering the truth behind the conspiracy. He adds another layer of complexity to the investigation as he clashes with both Lau and other players in the game.

The film explores themes of power, loyalty, justice, and the corruption that can infiltrate even the most respected institutions. It showcases intense action sequences, political intrigue, and complex character dynamics, building upon the established universe of Cold War.
