Vantage (cigarette)
Vantage was a brand of cigarettes produced by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Introduced in 1970, Vantage cigarettes were marketed as a lower tar and nicotine alternative to traditional cigarettes, targeting health-conscious smokers. The brand utilized filter technology and tobacco blends designed to reduce levels of these constituents in the smoke.
Over the years, Vantage was available in various styles, including king size and 100s, and offered different levels of tar and nicotine. Advertising campaigns frequently emphasized the reduced tar and nicotine content compared to other brands.
The production and sale of Vantage cigarettes, along with other cigarette brands, have been subject to increasing regulations and restrictions related to tobacco advertising, public health, and consumer protection. The brand's popularity, like that of many traditional cigarette brands, has declined in recent decades, facing competition from newer products such as e-cigarettes and other alternative nicotine delivery systems. Vantage is no longer widely available in many markets.
