Guillon (composer)
Guillon, a surname, most notably refers to Esprit-Joseph-Antoine-Marie Guillon (1767-1844), a French composer and conductor. He was born in Paris and died in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Guillon served as Kapellmeister at the French Imperial Theater in Saint Petersburg from 1803 until his death. He is known for his operas, ballets, and other theatrical works produced during his time in Russia. While not a household name, his music provides insight into the musical tastes and theatrical trends of the early 19th century in Russia. Further research into the archives of the French Imperial Theater would be required to develop a more comprehensive catalog of his compositions.
