Donald McNaughton (New York politician)

Donald McNaughton (1797-1852) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. He served as a member of the New York State Assembly and later as New York State Attorney General.

Born in Argyle, Washington County, New York, McNaughton studied law and was admitted to the bar. He established a legal practice in Argyle.

McNaughton was elected to the New York State Assembly, representing Washington County. His tenure in the Assembly spanned several terms, during which he actively participated in legislative debates and committee work. He was known for his advocacy on legal and economic matters.

In 1844, McNaughton was elected as the New York State Attorney General, serving a two-year term.
