Tannefors
Tannefors is a district and former municipality located in Linköping Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden. It is situated just east of the city of Linköping, on the Stångån river.
Historically, Tannefors was a separate municipality until its incorporation into Linköping Municipality in 1971. Prior to that, it served as an important industrial and transport hub, largely due to its location on the Stångån river and the Göta Canal, which connects the east and west coasts of Sweden. The area around Tannefors has seen significant industrial activity related to textiles and manufacturing in the past.
Today, Tannefors is primarily a residential area with a mix of housing types, including single-family homes, apartments, and townhouses. It retains some light industrial and commercial activities. Residents benefit from proximity to both the urban amenities of Linköping and the natural environment surrounding the Stångån river and the Göta Canal. Recreational opportunities include boating, fishing, and hiking.
