Moonlight (Chinese TV series)

Moonlight (月光变奏曲) is a 2021 Chinese romantic comedy television series based on the novel "First Initials" (初礼来了) by Qing Mei. The series stars Esther Yu (Yu Shuxin) as Chu Li, a newly graduated editor, and Ding Yuxi as Zhou Chuan, a popular and reclusive author.

The series follows Chu Li as she navigates her new job at Yuan Yue Publishing House and develops a complicated working relationship with Zhou Chuan, whom she initially knows only through his online pseudonym, Lord Monkey. As Chu Li and Zhou Chuan collaborate and grow closer, they must overcome professional challenges, personal insecurities, and misunderstandings. The series explores themes of ambition, self-discovery, the pressures of the publishing industry, and the complexities of modern relationships.
