John McNeill (Australian politician)
John McNeill (born 28 August 1948) is an Australian politician who served as a Labor member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly for Lyons from 1986 to 1996.
McNeill was educated at Cressy District School and Launceston Matriculation College. Before entering parliament, he worked as a farm hand and shearer. He was a member of the Cressy Area School Association and the Midlands District Trades and Labour Council.
In parliament, McNeill served on various committees, including the Standing Committee on Public Works. He held the position of Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 1992 to 1996. After losing his seat in the 1996 election, he worked as a consultant.
