Langepas
Langepas is a town located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, Russia. It is situated on the Kaya-Yel River, a tributary of the Ob River.
Langepas was founded in 1980 as a settlement for oil workers and was granted town status in 1985. Its economy is heavily reliant on the oil industry, with major oil companies operating in the region.
The town's name, "Langepas," is derived from the Khanty language and translates roughly to "squirrel place" or "squirrel river."
