Under the Influence (Status Quo album)
Under the Influence is the twenty-first studio album by British rock band Status Quo, released in 1999. It was produced by Mike Paxman, who had previously worked with the band on several albums in the 1980s.
The album marked a return to a heavier, more guitar-driven sound compared to some of their previous releases. It features original compositions alongside covers of classic rock and roll songs, a characteristic that has been present on several Quo albums.
Notable tracks on Under the Influence include the singles "The Way It Goes" and "Little White Lies". The album also features covers of songs like Bob Dylan's "The Mighty Quinn (Quinn the Eskimo)" and Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode".
Under the Influence reached number 26 on the UK Albums Chart. While it wasn't their most commercially successful album, it was generally well-received by fans and critics, who appreciated the band's return to their roots. The album supported a subsequent tour by Status Quo. The album also features the classic Status Quo line-up of Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, John "Rhino" Edwards, Jeff Rich and Andy Bown.
