Kheta (river)
The Kheta is a river located in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It is a right tributary of the Pyasina River. The Kheta flows primarily through the North Siberian Lowland.
The river is formed by the confluence of the Voyevolikhan and Boyarka rivers. It is approximately 425 kilometers (264 miles) in length, and its drainage basin covers an area of 12,500 square kilometers (4,800 square miles). The river is typically frozen over from October to June. The Kheta is fed primarily by snowmelt and rainfall.
The river is sparsely populated, and the surrounding area is characterized by tundra vegetation. Its waters are used for fishing, mainly for species adapted to cold environments. The Kheta, along with the Pyasina, eventually empties into the Kara Sea, part of the Arctic Ocean.
