USS Navajo (ATA-211)

The USS Navajo (ATA-211) was a United States Navy fleet ocean tug of the Navajo-class. Originally laid down as AT-211, she was reclassified as ATA-211 on 15 May 1944. Built by the Levingston Shipbuilding Company in Orange, Texas, she was launched on 19 August 1944 and commissioned on 21 November 1944.

Navajo (ATA-211) served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, providing vital towing and support services. Her duties primarily involved towing damaged vessels and providing assistance to ships in distress. After the war, she continued to serve in the Pacific, participating in various fleet exercises and support operations.

Decommissioned on 21 June 1969, USS Navajo (ATA-211) was struck from the Naval Register on 15 September 1969. She was subsequently sold for scrapping. The USS Navajo (ATA-211) earned one battle star for her World War II service.
