Trusnov
Trusnov, in the context of Russian space history, specifically refers to Evgeny Trusnov (1923-1965), a Soviet cosmonaut. He was a member of the first group of cosmonauts selected in 1960.
Trusnov is primarily known for his flight aboard Voskhod 1 in October 1964. He served as a research engineer on the mission, which was significant for being the first spaceflight to carry more than one person into orbit (three cosmonauts: Vladimir Komarov, Konstantin Feoktistov, and Trusnov). During the flight, Trusnov was involved in biomedical research and other scientific experiments.
Evgeny Trusnov died relatively young, at the age of 42, due to heart disease. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his contribution to space exploration. His legacy is remembered as part of the pioneering era of manned spaceflight.
