Trick or Treat (Fastway album)
Trick or Treat is the fifth studio album by British hard rock band Fastway, released in 1986. It served as the soundtrack to the heavy metal horror film Trick or Treat, in which Fastway members make a cameo appearance.
The album features a more polished and commercial sound compared to Fastway's previous releases, aligning with the popular hard rock and heavy metal trends of the mid-1980s. It marked a significant shift in musical direction for the band, partially due to the demands of creating a film soundtrack.
The album includes songs that are featured prominently in the film, often during scenes depicting the supernatural powers of the deceased rock star Sammi Curr. These songs help to establish the atmosphere and tone of the movie.
The lineup for Trick or Treat consisted of Dave King on vocals, "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar, Paul Reid on bass, and Alan Connor on drums.
While not considered one of Fastway's most critically acclaimed albums, Trick or Treat remains a notable release due to its connection with the cult classic horror film and its encapsulation of the 1980s hard rock sound. It helped to broaden the band's audience and remains a popular album among fans of both Fastway and the Trick or Treat movie.
