Tracery (horse)
Tracery was a British Thoroughbred racehorse, foaled in 1909. Bred and owned by Marcus Beresford, 1st Baron Beresford, and trained by Alec Taylor Jr., Tracery achieved significant success on the racecourse, most notably winning the 1912 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
A bay colt, Tracery was known for his stamina and versatility, performing well over a range of distances. In addition to his Arc victory, he also won the St. Leger Stakes in 1912, establishing himself as one of the leading three-year-olds of his generation.
After his racing career, Tracery became a successful stallion, standing at stud in both England and Argentina. He sired numerous winners, contributing to the development of the Thoroughbred breed. His progeny were noted for their soundness and racing ability. He died in Argentina in 1931.
