Vidlin
Vidlin is a small village and a peninsula on the east coast of Mainland, Shetland, Scotland. The village lies at the head of Vidlin Voe, a narrow inlet of the sea. The peninsula extends eastward into the North Sea.
Vidlin is located approximately 22 miles (35 km) north of Lerwick, the main town of Shetland. It is connected to the rest of Mainland Shetland by road.
The economy of Vidlin historically revolved around fishing and crofting (small-scale agriculture). While these activities remain, albeit on a reduced scale, other industries such as aquaculture and tourism have become more important. The area is known for its scenic beauty and opportunities for outdoor recreation, including walking, birdwatching, and fishing.
Vidlin also features a lifeboat station, operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), which serves the surrounding waters.
