Too Close to Home (TV series)

Too Close to Home is an American television drama series created by Tyler Perry that premiered on TLC on August 22, 2016. The series, TLC's first original scripted series, follows Anna Mae, a young woman from a working-class Alabama town, who leaves her past behind and makes a new life for herself in Washington, D.C.

The series begins when a scandal erupts in the nation's capital, threatening Anna Mae's position. As the scandal unfolds, Anna Mae is forced to return to her tumultuous roots in Alabama where she must confront her complicated family history and the secrets that haunt her.

The show stars Danielle Savre as Anna Mae, and features a large ensemble cast including Heather Locklear, Matt Battaglia, Brooke Anne Smith, Kelly Sullivan, Brad Benedict, and Alpha Trivette.

Too Close to Home was cancelled after two seasons. The first season consisted of eight episodes, and the second of eight as well. While initially presented as a traditional television drama, the show incorporated elements of soap opera and suspense. Reviews were mixed, with some critics praising the show's melodramatic aspects, while others criticized its pacing and acting.
