Tendla
Tendla is a village development committee (VDC) located in the Solukhumbu District of Province No. 1 in Nepal. VDCs were the local administrative units in Nepal prior to the implementation of the new constitution and the establishment of municipalities and rural municipalities. Tendla VDC was responsible for local governance, infrastructure development, and service provision within its designated area.
Historically, VDCs like Tendla played a significant role in implementing government programs at the grassroots level, including education, health, and agricultural initiatives. The structure consisted of an elected chairperson and ward members who represented the interests of their respective communities.
The terrain in areas like Tendla is typically mountainous, and the economy is largely based on agriculture and tourism, particularly trekking due to its proximity to Mount Everest. The population primarily consists of rural communities dependent on subsistence farming. Following the reorganization of local government in Nepal, the functions previously held by Tendla VDC are now likely administered by a newly formed municipality or rural municipality. The specific administrative structure and geographic boundaries may have changed as a result of this reorganization.
