Tela (rapper)
Tela, born Winston Terrill Clark on December 28, 1970, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. He is best known for his 1996 debut album, Piece of Mind, and the hit single "Sho Nuff."
Tela signed with Rap-A-Lot Records in the mid-1990s, joining a roster that included prominent Southern hip-hop artists like Geto Boys, Scarface, and UGK. Piece of Mind achieved platinum status, solidifying Tela's place in the Southern rap scene.
Following the success of his debut, Tela released several subsequent albums, including Now or Never (1998), The World Ain't Enuff (2000), and Made in Tennessee (2002). While these albums did not reach the commercial heights of Piece of Mind, they continued to showcase his lyrical abilities and Southern-infused style.
Tela's music often features themes of street life, hustling, and reflections on personal experiences. He is recognized for his smooth delivery and distinctive voice. His work contributed to the development and popularization of Memphis hip-hop.
